Tom Waits to Tour, plus Johnny Cash's "American V," the LL Cool J Diet Plan, Bob Dylan Can Write Well, Toy Guitar of Death

  • The Reverse Advanced (started out Advanced and became Overt, otherwise known as Second-Stage Advanced Weirdo) Tom Waits is going on an honest-to-goodness tour. Well, eight dates and for Overt, cockamamie reasons, but I'll take it.
  • Everybody loves Johnny Cash's American V, so I guess his reputation will remain intact. What a relief.
  • Get as ripped as LL Cool J! (But not Brad Pitt.)
  • Bob Dylan was voted top living songwriter by the readers of Paste magazine. Meanwhile, the readers of Copy magazine prefer Donovan.
  • Avoid this toy guitar at all costs! It has parts that could cause you to choke, plus it encourages you to play "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.

Here is a song title for you:

"What Should I Have For Lunch?"

you can use it, if you want to.

I'm really looking forward to hearing Cash's new CD. a psychologist who once played Johnny Cash songs for inmates at a California correctional facility. You can find that story here:

The experience inspired me to write this song:

JC Therapy
words and music by Dr. Bruce L. Thiessen
aka Dr. BLT (c)2006

During the course of that performance, I noted the power of Johnny Cash's songs in touching the hearts of these inmates. Since then, I started working on a Cash tribute CD that included songs like these:

(We) Still Miss Someone
(lyrical adaptation based on Cash's original)
words and music by Dr. BLT (c)2006

The Ballad of Johnny and June
words and music by Dr. BLT (c)2006

Now that we've received this, the final chapter in the Cash legacy, it has me wonderring who will be:

The Next Johnny Cash
words and music by Dr. BLT (c)2006

aka Dr. BLT, The World's First Blog 'n' Roll Artist
