Franz Ferdinand: Sell Me Out

According to contactmusic.com, Franz Ferdinand is getting some heat from fans because they've allowed "Take Me Out" to be used in some ads for Playstation. One fan says, "Why the hell are Franz Ferdinand selling out their art to help sell crappy electronics for a massive corporation?" As you may remember, I think the minute you sign with a record company, especially a major label, you've already "sold out your art." So why not get paid for it? On a related note, I think that if someone has never heard "Rio" by Duran Duran, you could convince them that it is Franz Ferdinand. That's not a bad thing, of course, just something to think about. I love the bass playing on that song, by the way. And the way he sings "luck is on my side, I tell you something, I know what you're thinking, I tell you something, I know what you're thinking" (or whatever the line is) is intriguing.
