Stereolab and Joe Buck
I've been meaning to say publicly that much of Sterolab's music (for instance, the first couple of minutes of "Double Rocker" from "Sound Dust") sounds a lot like the music playing in the party scene from "Midnight Cowboy." There, I've said it. I don't hold it against them or anything. In fact, I've always enjoyed that music. I'm just saying.

I think it's better that VU weren't in the movie (or Andy Warhol), at least for me. One of the things I like about the movie is that though it reflects its time and place, it isn't chained to them. It has a fantastic quality that makes it more than just a movie about New York weirdos. Putting such recognizable people on the screen would have brought a little too much reality into the movie for my tastes.
